New Video: Miley Cyrus - "Wrecking Ball"

A little late with posting this video and song, however, it deserves to be posted. Miley Cyrus gave everyone something to talk about with her VMA performance but there is so much more to her than that weird side she conveyed that night that had everyone around the world talking their talk. Not to make any kind of excuses for behavior that is non agreeable, she is growing up trying to find herself. Everyone is entitled to their own journey and living out their life to their contentment, Miley included. Her new song "Wrecking Ball" is a force to be reckoned with, she created something so raw with her emotions that it will strike anyone who has ever been there and done it. The Terry Richardson-directed visuals show her at her most vulnerable point singing her heart out about how love went wrong with her long time love Liam Hemsworth. Miley gave her explanation of the what the visuals conveyed, which I have posted below. Miley's new album Bangerz is slated to drop October 4th via RCA Records.

"I never meant to start a war I just wanted you to let me in And instead of using force
I guess I should’ve let you win I never meant to start a war I just wanted you to let me in I guess I should’ve let you win....Don’t you ever say I just walked away, I will always want you" <3

Throwback Thursday With A New School Twist: The Notorious B.I.G. feat. MA$E & P. Diddy - "Mo Money Mo Problems" & Drake "Worst Behavior"

I think that all songs made and created by Biggie even when they featured other artists were and are classics, and will continue to be classics. He was not just your ordinary rapper/hip hop artist, he was a trailblazer who made way for the hip hop artists of today. Even today when people ask me who my favorite Hip Hop artists are Biggie is in that group, he will continue to be in that group because I loved the artist that he was and what he represented. His "Mo Money Mo Problems" was one of those classics with a sample from Diana Ross' song "I'm Coming Out" the track enlisted features from Ma$e and Biggie's sidekick P. Diddy, along with vocals being sang by Kelly Price. To this very day because of airplay and chart achievement "Mo Money Mo Problems" is said to be one of the most popular songs in Hip Hop history. Biggie's lyrics still play in my head sometimes and when a rapper in today's time bites on a lyric from an old hip hop song I almost always catch it, the way I did as I was listening to Drake's new album Never Was The Same on track number six "Worst Behavior" when he bit Mase's lyric from "Mo Money Mo Problems".
Mase's lyric in verse 1 of "Mo Money Mo Problems was "Now, who's hot, who not?, Tell me who rock, who sell out in the stores?, You tell me who flopped, who copped the blue drop?, Whose jewels got rocks, who's mostly Dolce down, To the tube sock? The same old pimp Mase, you know ain't nothing change but my limp, Can't stop till I see my name on a blimp."
Drake's lyric in verse 3 of "Worst Behavior" was "Who's hot, who not, Tell me who rock, who sell out in stores, You tell me who flop, who copped the new drop, Whose jewels got rocks, who else makin' rap albums, Doing numbers like it's pop? Same old pimp, Drake you know ain't nothing changed with these funny style niggas, We done put on in the game."
That is what happened when Drake bit the lyric from Mase's lyrics in "Mo Money Mo Problems", the epic verse three of "Worst Behavior" was created and Drake killed it as usual.  Drizzy's new new album Nothing Was The Same falls nothing short of greatness wrapped inside of 15 tracks. This is what happens when Throwback Thursday meets with the new for a New School Twist.
Side Note: Just a little lesson on Drake he once named Loon and Mase as two artists he wanted to sound like when he first entered the industry, and the only other artist that he knew of who ever sighted Mase as an inspiration was Kanye. What a coincidence that he bit Mase's verse :) !!!!

New Video: J. Cole Feat. TLC - “Crooked Smile”

After seeing Cole Tuesday night in Charlotte on the What Dream May Come Tour with Wale, it made me appreciate the heart that the North Carolina native has. He made me excited listening to his every word. The deliverance of his new visuals "Crooked Smile" fall nothing short of what was expected from the Born Sinner rapper as he delivers a very important message through visuals. Cole a drug dealer trying to make his way is in for trouble as a cop is assigned to arrest him at his little sisters birthday party, when things take a turn and did not go down quite as planned. The ending is a message from Cole himself that read "For Aiyana Stanley-Jones. And please reconsider your war on drugs. - A message from J. Cole". New Music: Toni Braxton & Babyface - "Hurt You"

I may be a little late with recognizing this track and if I had not seen Toni's twitter feed tonight I may have been even more late stumbling upon such magic as her new track "Hurt You". Toni Braxton and Babyface came together like magic and just like the old days to create their new song "Hurt You", sounding like the same two people they were some time ago. I knew she had quite a few more good ones left in her even after she made the announcement for her retirement and this is only the proof. Babyface will always remain the number one  R&B man in the books.

This weeks track "Light One" is produced by Korona and enlists a feature from Dutch Rebelle, it is the second installement of the #SpitsNelsonSundays. Drake "Nothing Was The Same" vs. "Take Care"

A glass of red wine sits on the table during Drake's latest MTV interview and the whole time I am listening to what he is actually saying I am wondering if it could possibly Tignanello or Gaja Sito Moresco (those are his favorite wines). Having a debacle in my head about the type of wine he is drinking should be furthest to what I should actually be thinking about considering he is saying that  Never Was The Same is better than Take Care. In the interview he was crystal clear as he said "I think the music that I am making is more concise, more clear I've been able to get my thoughts across a lot better on this album. Take Care is a great album I listen to it and realize where I can do better and I think I have done better on this album." Take Care was a masterpiece that I fell in love and have stayed in love with because he put his heart on the line in every lyric, melody, and beat of that album. To think that Never Was The Same will give me an even bigger love affair than Take Care did almost scares me cause Take Care is on such a pedestal in my world. If Drake is saying Never Was The Same is better than Take Care then I guess there should not be a rebuttal because we are hearing it from the mouth of the speaker of such opinion, the person who created such work.

Drake Releases "Nothing Was The Same" Tracklisting

After tweeting on September 3rd giving us warning with his tweet below...

Drake gave us another tweet last night just a day later asking one simple question and adding a link....

With that one question and link came the tracklisting for his much anticipated upcoming album "Nothing Was The Same". There are two covers and two tracklistings each representing "Nothing Was The Same" one for the regular edition, and one for the deluxe edition. The regular edition with the cover of what appears to be Drake as a child with a curly fro and comb stuck in his hair has 13 tracks and enlists features from Jay Z, Detail. The deluxe edition displaying the grown up clean cut Drake with his perfect side part has the same 13 tracks with the Jay Z, Detail, 2 Chainz, and Big Sean in for features, and the addition of 2  more tracks "Come Thru" and his recent hit "All Me". SEPTEMBER 24th is THE DAY that "Nothing Was The Same" will change everything.

"All Is Fair In Love & War"

I have been on a love affair since yesterday because of Tamar Braxton's album "Love and War", all for good reason. She said yesterday on Good Morning America that the album was "the soundtrack to her and her husband Vince's relationship". Tonight I attepmted to make a selling point about the album to a good friend. I said with this one statement "I think the album is the soundtrack to any relationship if you can love hard enough, fight hard enough, and give your heart again better than the last time". My attempt to pursuede someone to buy the album was money with that statement and actually motivated me to write about why I love the album so much. The following gems are the reasons as to why I have fallen in love with "Love and War".

" We stay on the front lines, Yea but we're still here after the bomb drops, We go so hard we lose control, The fire starts then we explode, Only in love and war" -"Love and War"

"Speeding down the road, and my head out of control, Cause I'm thinking about you all the way home, Got a long way to ride and I can’t even deny, I've been thinking about you all the way home"
-"All The Way Home"

"But I wanna stay and fight for you, Fight til my heart is back in blue, Fight til there's nothing left not one single strand of the love we had, I wanna stay and fight for us, Fight like hell before I give up, Till I'm the only one, the only one in love, I'd fight for you"
-"Stay and Fight"

"I deserve more than just a little part, I don't want nothing if I cant have it all, I ain't even gonna play with something I can't keep, I want the whole thing or forget about me"
-"Pieces"

"What you gotta understand is, I'm still here, I could've been with any man I wanted so let's be clear,
Yeah I know that she hurt you, None of those circumstances, you got a lot of things to work through
You don't want to take no chances, What you gotta understand is, even with all that
I'm still here, I you just show me where it hurts, I can kiss away the pain I can make it good again if you let me"
-"Where It Hurts"

I will end this by saying once again "I think the album can be the soundtrack to any relationship if you can love hard enough, fight hard enough, and give your heart again better than the last time" that is what "Love and War" is truly about.

And In The End.......
"All Is Fair In Love and War"
