J. Cole & Drake's Apologies For Offensive Autism Lyrics

In recent weeks there have been quite a few rappers to be scrutinized in the media for some of their lyrics in songs. J. Cole is the most recent rapper that took some backlash for one of his lyrics in the "Jodeci Freestyle" in which he collaborated with Drake. Cole's lyric “I’m artistic, you n*ggas is autistic, retarded” was one that caused controversy because of the reference towards Autism. After the all the negative attention and a nearly 5,000 name petition that was started by the ABA "Anti-Bullying Alliance" the North Carolina native took the initiative to write a personal apology to Autism Speaks. The apology was one  that addressed the mistake made but was also one that gave an honest opinion from that of a human being who was embarrassed and regretful of the hurt in which he may have caused. Jermaine's writings of his apology spoke volumes and was one that should not have been taken lightly as it was the sincerest form of an "I'm Sorry" that anyone could have ever given. With Cole's apology came a statement and another apology from Drake in his most sincerest and respectful demeanor. With both of their apologies and public statements came the most correction a mistake could ever have and that was the removal of that hurtful lyric from the "Jodeci Freestyle". As I read Cole's apology I could almost weep because it showed not the character of a so-called "rapper" but that of a Human Being, with that being said "Cole Made Me Proud".
